SOULFLY's New Album, "Killer Be Killed" to Be Released in August + Max Cavalera Video Interview

SOULFLY Recently Entered the Studio with Producer, Matt Hyde (SLAYER, CHILDREN OF BODOM, MONSTER MAGNET, WINDS OF PLAGUE) to Begin Recording its 10th Album for a Late Summer Release via Nuclear Blast Entertainment. Speaking to Spotlight Report at this Month's Soundwave Festival in Australia, SOULFLY Mainman, Max Cavalera, Said (See Video below) :


"The next SOULFLY comes out in August. I'm finishing the vocals right now. The music is all done. It was done with Matt Hyde in L.A., and it's incredible. [It's] a really good record. I'm very happy with this record. And I'm gonna be, probably… after the SOULFLY album comes out, I'm probably gonna be one year or a year and a half on the road for SOULFLY". In a Recent Interview with SkullsNBones.com, Max Cavalera Said about SOULFLY's upcoming CD: "I need to prepare a really good SOULFLY record for the fans. I really wanna do it killer. And the more time I spend writing the riffs and getting the ideas for the SOULFLY record, the better record it will be. Instead of waiting for the last minute and do it real quick… Hopefully [I can] think of some cool guests to be on the tenth record — the big tenth record. We're gonna try to make some kind of campaign about [it] — ten records; that's quite amazing. But, we're gonna try to make a really cool [album]". He Continued: "We've got a really solid band. I love Marc [Rizzo, guitar], [and] I love Tony [Campos, bass]. And it looks like Zyon [Cavalera, Max's son] is gonna drum again for the next CD. So, we're gonna kick his ass, [and] try to get [him to be] more in the ball with us. And we'll see how that goes".


SOULFY's 9th CD, "Savages", was Released on October 1, 2013. The CD was Produced by Terry Date, Who's Known for his Work with such Acts as PANTERA, DEFTONES and SOUNDGARDEN, among Many Others. Guest Vocal Appearances on "Savages" included SOULFLY Bass Player, Tony Campos, CLUTCH's, Neil Fallon, NAPALM DEATH's, Mitch Harris, Jamie Hanks of I DECLARE WAR and SOULFLY Mainman, Max Cavalera's Son, Igor Cavalera (of LODY KONG).

Google Snags .App Domain for a Whopping $25 Million

Google has Become the Owner of the .app Domain after it Outbid Other Tech Companies and Decided to Shell Out $25 Million in the Process. Ever since the ICANN Introduced Novelty gTLDs, Companies Have been Scrambling to Get the Ownership and Bidding with Large Sums of Money at the Auctions. Microsoft has Applied for Domains such as ".Windows", ".XBox" and ".Skype" among Many Others and Amazon Managed to Get the ".Buy" Domain for $5 Million Last Year. But, Google has Now Managed to Pay the Highest Bid for a Domain, so Far. Google already Owns Domains such as ".How", ".Soy" and ".Minna" and has Applied for More than 50 Domains since 2012, including 3 Non-English Ones. The .App Domain which was Finally Sold for $25 Million is the Highest Amount for a Domain so Far. Previously, the .Tech Domain was Purchased for $6.7 Million after Dot Tech LLC Outbid Google to Acquire it. It Seems Google will Continue to Pursue such Auctions in the Future as the Company's Spokesperson Sent Out the Following Comment to Business Insider, "We've been excited and curious about the potential for new TLDs for .Soy long. We are very .App-y with .How, at a .Minna-Mum, they have the potential to .Foo-ward internet innovation". Google's Own Domain Registry Hasn't been Updated to Reflect the Purchase Yet or the Company Might Have Some Other Plans for it.

YouTube Isn't Making Money, Even with a Billion Viewers

Despite "Gangnam Style" Having over 2 Billion Views, Hosting Countless Other Viral Clips and Netting over a Billion Users Per-Month, YouTube Can't Seem to Turn a Profit. How's that ? Well, after Paying for the Infrastructure that Makes Google's Video Empire Possible (and its Content Partners), The Wall Street Journal Says that, YouTube Didn't Contribute to Mountain View's Earnings. The Culprit, apparently, is that, Most Users Arrive at Videos via Links, rather than Daily Visits to the YouTube Homepage Where Google could Charge a Premium for Ads. WSJ also Reports that, the Website's Reach Isn't Very Wide Either, with One Source's Estimate that, 9% of Viewers Account for a Whopping 85% of Online-Video Views.


That Makes it a Much Less Appealing Audience for Advertisers than Traditional TV Programming, despite the Outfit's Increasing Investment in Original Content. Google's Hoping that, the Music Key Subscription Service, among Other Ideas, Can Hold the Tide of Red Ink Back and Turn that Sea Black. Another Method is, with Targeted Ads so, you Can Get Inundated with Sales Pitches for Stuff you've Recently Browsed on Amazon. WSJ's Sources Say that, those Might be a Bit Harder to Add than Google Previously Expected, though and Thankfully could Take Some Time to Roll Out. At least, there's Some Form of Silver Lining here.

Chinese Internet Giants Purge 60,000 Accounts for Inappropriate Usernames

China will Enforce an Even Tighter Control over Online Names Starting on March 1 and it's Already Begun Nuking any Account that Doesn't Conform to its Standards. A Handful of Powerful Internet Companies in the Country Have Deleted over 60,000 Accounts they Believe are in Violation of China's New Real-Name / Username Policy. The Cyberspace Administration of China (CAC) Said in a Statement that, these Accounts Have Either Harmful Usernames (such as "Come Shoot Guns") or Ones that Mislead People into Thinking that, they're Dealing with Media or the Government (like "Buy License Plates"). According to The Wall Street Journal, the Group of Companies that did this Round of Purging include e-Commerce Website, Alibaba, Tech Giant, Tencent, Chinese Google, Baidu and Social Media Platform, Weibo.


Baidu Reportedly Nuked 23,000 Accounts for Having Vulgar Usernames or Using Sexually Explicit Avatars, while Weibo Removed 5,500 Accounts for Promoting Terrorism and the Views of the East Turkestan Islamic Movement. Tencent also Deleted Instant Messaging and Social Media Accounts that Deal with Gambling, Firearms and Issue Fake Invoices and Food Safety Information. It's Not Clear How Many Accounts Alibaba Canceled but, the Company Formed a Team to Monitor the Usernames on its Websites and Platforms. The CAC Didn't Mention if, Some Accounts were Removed because, they Didn't Have the Users' Real Names. But, if you Recall, Websites will also Start Requiring People to Input their Legal Names and Legit Info, When the New Rules Take Effect on March 1st -- Something that "Chills" Chinese Blogging Pioneer, Isaac Mao. "In the long run", he Told the WSJ, "freedom of speech and freedom of innovation will be dramatically harmed".
