"Dying Light" Canned on PlayStation 3 and XBox 360

Zombie Survival Adventure, "Dying Light", is No Longer Coming to XBox 360 and PlayStation 3 Due to Technical Limitations. Developer Techland Announced on Tuesday that, it has Cancelled the Last-Generation Versions of its Zombie Game, Opting to Make it Exclusively for High-End Hardware; PlayStation 4, XBox One and PC. In a Statement Issued via Facebook, the Developer Said it has Axed the Last-Gen Versions because, "put simply, older consoles just couldn't run the game and stay true to the core vision of Dying Light at the same time. We spent the last three years making sure that all the features of our game add up to create a truly next-gen experience", Said the Firm. "Much of this 'next-gen feel' is tightly connected to the technological side of Dying Light. For instance, up to 200,000 objects can be displayed in the game at once. Add to this our use of realistic, physics-based lighting technology and you really start to push the next-gen systems to the limits. Combining all of these into one fluid experience is only possible on technologically advanced platforms", it Added. "Therefore, after thorough internal testing, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but, to leave past-gen systems behind and release Dying Light exclusively on the next-gen consoles and PC."

This Comes as a Particular Surprise considering the Game was Due Out on All Platforms in January 2015, which Suggests that - Despite Indications of Technical Difficulties - the Last-Gen Versions will Have been in the Final Stages of Development. A Previously-Announce Release Date Appears to Remain Unaffected; "Dying Light" will Release for PC, PS4 and XBox One on January 27 in the Americas, January 28 in Australia and New Zealand and January 30 in Europe and Asia. In May, the Game was Delayed from its Original 2014 Launch Window to February 2015 to Give Techland More Time to Perfect its Parkour-Inspired 'Natural Movement' System, which is Intended to Give Players Significant Freedom of Movement across the Game's Open World. That Date was Recently Brought Forward to January.
