Microsoft’s Mainstream Support for Windows 7 Ended. This Might Seem like Bad News for the World’s currently Most-Used Operating System but, it is Really just Business as Usual. The Operating System is Now Entering the Extended Support Phase, which will Continue until at least January 14, 2020. Mainstream Support includes Free Incident Support, Warranty Claims, Fixes for Non-Security, as well as, Security Bugs, plus Design Changes and Feature Requests. Extended Support Consists Solely of Security Updates. In Other Words, Windows 7 Won’t be Getting any Significant Updates Going Forward but, it will Continue to Get Patches When New Security Holes are Discovered. As Long as you Run Windows Update on a Regular Basis, you Really Have Nothing to Worry about.
