Development on the Sequel to Destiny is already Underway, Activision has Confirmed.
Activision Publishing CEO, Eric Hirshberg, Said during the Firm's Earnings Call on Tuesday that, Bungie has Already Begun Work on the "Next Full Game Release" in the New Destiny IP, along with More DLC Expansion Content for the Existing Game, which Launched in September. Destiny, Bungie's 1st Post-Halo Release and a New IP for its New Publishing Partner, Activision, was Released on September 9 on PS4, PS3, XBox One and XBox 360.
Activision was Said to Have Sold $500 Million Worth of Destiny Copies to Retailers for its Launch Day. With around $325 Million Worth Sold to Consumers in its 1st 5 Days on the Market.
This Marked the "Biggest New IP Launch" in UK History, with Activision Labeling it the Most-Pre-Ordered New VideoGame Franchise in History.
Destiny Sales in September Broke Records for Sony PlayStation Store Digital Marketplace, Driving the "Biggest Month in PlayStation Store History", according to Sony.
Earlier Today, Activision Said that Destiny's Registered Player Based has Topped 9.5 Million and "ranks among the top 10 largest videogame launches of all time in the US".
The 1st Destiny DLC Expansion, Titled The Dark Below, will Launch on December 9.
The Dark Below will be Followed by House of Wolves, which has yet to be Detailed. Both are included in a Destiny Expansion Pass.
